Forge
on Metalworks
by Jim
Jones

Jim Jones of Nicholasville has been actively
blacksmithing since 2000. What began as a leisure time hobby
quickly grew into a blossoming business as Jim’s neighbors
and community discovered his abilities in turning cold steel
into functional and attractive ornamental architecture and
household tools. Jim is an active juried member of Kentucky
Crafted, participating at the popular wholesale / retail
venue, The Market, for the past several years. This has
resulted in pieces being placed in a variety of Kentucky’s
premiere arts and crafts shops. Jim also gives lessons to
those interested in learning more about this ancient craft.
In addition, he provides blacksmithing demonstrations around
the state. Jim has created custom works for home and farm
owners and businesses, including ornamental pieces such as
stair railings, outdoor grills, wall mounted wine racks,
door and window hardware, fireplace accessories, and horse
stall doors and windows. A commissioned stair railing was
recently featured in
The Hammer’s Blow, the journal of the Artists
Blacksmiths Association of North America. Jim has also been
featured on Bluegrass and Backroads, a television show about
Kentucky’s history, arts and culture.

choosing materials that contain the most interesting and
beautiful grains and colors. We offer one of a kind pens
made from: domestic wood, exotic wood, driftwood, deer
antler, snake skin, corncob, crushed sunflower seed, polymer
clay and heritage materials (wood with sentimental value to
it). Our goal is to provide you
with great customer service and complete product
satisfaction. We hope that our custom-made pens and

Wolf
Run Wildlife Refuge and Educational Facility, Inc. began its lifesaving efforts in 1993. The facility, located
in
Nicholasville
,
KY
, was enacted to help innocent animals find a world that was
safe, free from abuse and a permanent sanctuary for those
that could not be released back into the wild. Wolf Run has
grown into a state and USDA licensed educational facility
that houses
Kentucky
native wildlife as well as African
lions to South American cougars, from Wolves and
Coyotes to our native Whitetail deer. We work to
offer each of them an existence that closely mimics their
natural habitats. Wolf Run's animal residents make 'Paw
Print' paintings (see below) that will be available for
sale, as well as a variety of other items including jewelry,
logo wear, hats and mugs.

Jewelry By The Spoonful

Jewelry by the Spoonful was started in
March of 2008 when owner, designer Susan Davisson was
looking through some old jewelry.
She came across a pendant handcrafted from a fork
that her grandmother had bought on a vacation in
Williamsburg, Va.
several decades earlier.
Her love of jewelry and crafts inspired her to make
her own designs from silverware.
She handcrafts pendants/slides, earrings, bracelets,
key chains and necklaces all from antique silverware dating
from the late 1800’s through the mid 1900’s.
Each piece is researched to find the pattern name and
date of the silverware which adds to the uniqueness of her
jewelry.
