ACTIVITIES & DEMONSTRATORS

The R.J. Corman Railroad Company's steam locomotive "Old Smokey' will make it's first pubic appearance under steam since the May 24, 2008 inaugural trip at the 35th Annual Midway Fall Festival. For our many friends who missed the inaugural trip of Old Smokey last year between Lexington and Louisville, this is your chance to see a working, live steam locomotive up close.

The steam locomotive and train will make it's grand arrival at 10 a.m. in downtown Midway, and will be on display at the North Gratz Street railroad crossing. Attendees of the Midway Fall Festival will be able to see the locomotive up close and visit with the train crew.

Old Smokey is the largest operational steam locomotive in the state of Kentucky. Also on display will be one of R.J. Corman-RailPower's tier II certified gen-set locomotives, a heavy duty service and gondola built new in 2008 and a vintage caboose, along with a presentation of Kentucky Operation Lifesaver and My Old Kentucky Dinner Train.
